Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing human resources support to the Scottsdale, AZ Home Office (approximately 150 employees). This role partners with managers and employees to deliver high-quality HR services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

  • General HR functions to include employee relations, training and development, and leave management.
  • Facilitates the resolution of various Human Resources ER matters and provides support to employees and management staff consistent with the policies and procedures established.
  • Full-cycle recruiting process, works with hiring managers to ensure their staffing needs are met and guidance is provided where needed, including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, extending offers, and coordinating all hiring activities.
  • Manages full-cycle onboarding and compliance processes, including execution of new hire orientation, I-9 collection and verification, onboarding task management, policy acknowledgements, and badge/access coordination.
  • Manages onboarding process, including candidate/employee set up, background checks, drug screens, credentialing coordination, and department/cost center alignment.
  • Creates and updates s to support recruiting, compensation, FLSA, ADA, and organizational needs.
  • Provides coaching and guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, documentation, corrective actions, performance concerns, and employee relations matters.
  • Employee relations investigations, documenting findings, maintaining confidentiality, and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Partners with managers to identify employee and departmental training and development needs; coordinates and facilitates employee training programs, workshops, and other learning initiatives.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of training materials, programs, and resources.
  • Coordinates required compliance and workplace training and monitors completion.
  • Supports administration of leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, Workers' Compensation, and other employee leave matters.
  • Assists with unemployment claims by gathering documentation and participating in hearings when necessary.
  • Coordinates and supports the annual performance review process and makes recommendations as necessary.
  • Works with HR management team on annual salary increase and bonus program for Home Office employees.
  • Prepares reports and updates regarding HR activities, recruiting, employee relations, and other HR metrics.
  • Coordinates and delivers extended new hire orientation, HR training, Lunch & Learns, and other employee development programs.
  • Coordinates the company monthly random drug testing administration and ordering of supplies.
  • Oversees employee engagement initiatives, service awards, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Prepares employee correspondence including offer letters, employment agreements, and other employment-related documentation.
  • Coordinates employee offboarding activities, including exit interviews, return of company property, and separation documentation.
  • Oversees company communications center, employee announcements, bulletin boards, and HR updates.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential employee relations files, investigations, documentation, and personnel records.
  • Partners with HR Operations to ensure timely processing of personnel changes [PCN’s] and payroll-related documentation.
  • HR Inbox Management.
  • Represents the HR department in a professional, positive, and service-oriented manner.
  • Periodic travel may be required to company locations or conferences.
  • Maintains regular and dependable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and electronic personnel records preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-through.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification is preferred..
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or Human Resources role.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and performance management.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location organization is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Walk/move on a variety of surfaces including tile, wood, concrete and carpet.
  • Stand/remain upright; walk/move around building.
  • Sit/remain seated up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Reach down, forward and overhead.
  • Turn and twist repetitively.
  • Use a computer constantly during entire shift.
  • Use multiline telephone frequently during entire shift.
  • Visual acuity to see dual computer monitors and data and ability to adjust focus
