About McBooks: Founded in 1993, McBooks is a small family founded & operated firm specializing in small business and not-for-profit bookkeeping and accounting. We have earned a reputation in the business and nonprofit community for excellent work and are recommended by many nonprofit accounting firms who do nonprofit audits. About the Job: We have an immediate opening for a Full Charge Contract Bookkeeper. We are looking for a self-starter who can handle multiple client accounts, master deadlines and keep clients on track. We love our clients and their missions and want it to show in our work. The position is as a 1099 contract position with remote oversight and training during your onboarding. The job would entail maintaining the books for several small businesses and nonprofit organizations. After an initial virtual training period the new Bookkeeper would be expected to work independently from their own home office.

Skills Necessary for the Job:

Preference given to applicants with non-profit accounting experience

At least two years of accounting study at an accredited college or university.

Experience working with auditors, basic audit procedures and 990 schedules.

Ability to reconcile complicated books and set up proper accounting processes.

Ability to set up a new system for tracking specific programs, grants and restricted funds.

Ability to effectively and proactively communicate with clients in all situations.

Ability to organize one's time and ensure that promised deadlines are met. Be able to communicate effectively with clients who are not meeting their scheduled obligations.

Must be extremely proficient in QuickBooks Pro and Excel and DropBox. Must have experience with all modules of QuickBooks, i.e. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, etc..

Must be able to run Payroll and submit Payroll tax returns.

Most important, must be able to make a personal connection with each client.

English fluency is a must.

$35/hour
