Job Overview

We are seeking a Construction Safety Officer to support safe and compliant operations across commercial and industrial construction projects. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining safety plans, conducting job site inspections and hazard assessments, leading safety meetings and training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company/client safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on construction safety experience, strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, and the ability to work effectively with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel.

Must-Have Skills

• 1 3 years of construction safety experience in commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices .
• Hands-on experience developing Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) .
• Experience developing Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) .
• Experience conducting job site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments .
• Ability to lead pre-task planning meetings, toolbox talks, and daily safety briefings .
• Experience investigating incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions .
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel, project managers, and superintendents .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting software .

What You Will Be Doing

• Develop, implement, and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) .
• Perform routine job site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments .
• Lead pre-task planning meetings, toolbox talks, and daily safety briefings .
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and develop corrective action plans .
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client-specific safety requirements .
• Coordinate employee safety orientations and ongoing safety training .
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, inspection records, and compliance metrics.
• Partner with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to foster a culture of safety and accountability.

Experience You Will Need

• 1 3 years of construction safety experience in commercial and/or industrial projects.
• Mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing construction experience preferred.
• Experience developing Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) .
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices .
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety reporting software .
• Ability to work effectively with field personnel and project management teams .

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Construction
• OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 preferred
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) or other construction safety certifications are a plus.
